Shizuoka Hobby Show 2012 Report

Post Shizuoka Hobby Show 2012 Report

One of the biggest hobby shows in Japan, the Shizuoka Hobby Show, took place on May 17th with renowned airsoft manufacturer Tokyo Marui revealing four new replicas it had teased earlier on its website.
The MP7A1 gas blow-back compact machine gun was the highlight of the company's display booth, with attendees experiencing the enhanced recoil of the replica as a result of its large 16mm piston. Notable features of the model include a 4 position stock, 40 round magazine, 2,170 gram weight, 145mm inner barrel length, light trigger pull, and no gap between the fore grip and trigger guard. Accuracy, gas efficiency, and inevitable aftermarket support will unquestionably aid Marui in the sale of their personal defense weapon when it is released in August of this year.

Adding to their High Cycle Series, Marui revealed their PS90 HC replica, in OD color, set to be released in late June or early July of this year. The PS90 style long barrel is made from aluminum and can be removed should the user wish to attach a different flash hider. The 300 round capacity magazine has been refined, with a repositioning of the internal spring, resulting in a more realistic appearance.

Completely renewed, yet still compatible with older magazines, the M9A1 gas blow back pistol by Marui features a lanyard ring, 115mm inner barrel length, realistic muzzle crown, and a realistic weight of 961 grams.
Lastly, Marui displayed their licensed Smith & Wesson M19 and M66 gas revolvers in 2.5, 4, and 6 inch barrel lengths. Soon to be available in black and silver finish, respectively, these gas revolvers will use a 24 shot system to increase capacity and assist in gas efficiency.
Looking ahead, Marui offered a product mock-up of their next scheduled gas blow back pistols, namely the HK45 and M&P; the expected release date of these two models has not been released.
