We're in mid-summer now and more outdoor airsoft events are in the offing and one of the best ways to document large scale airsoft events is to have a civilian drone/RC copters hovering overhead capturing the action from above. Parrot AR Drone 2.0 has two cameras, a bottom to capture the action below and a forward camera to view what's in front of the drone to steer it properly. It can be controlled with a mobile device such as a tablet or mobile phone.

Well, here it is, gas gun fans. A battle for the ages. I have thrown the KWA LM4 PTR, King Arms Colt M4A1 & the G&P WOC M4 Kit into the ring together to see which one(s) will make it out alive.
Here on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog, I will cover the good, the bad and the hideously ugly of these three rifles. I will freely admit that these are not the only gas blowback M4 rifles out on the market, but are the only ones I had access to. In an ideal world, I would have liked to include the KJW/Tanio Koba M4 GBBR, the Inokatsu M4 GBBR & maybe the Bomber M4 GBBR as well. Maybe someday. But for now, these three rifles will have to do.
Feelings will not be spared.
So let's cut the crap, shall we?

If you have noticed in the past week or two (or more), most of airsoft product news at most airsoft news sites and forums have been dominated by WE Airsoft, KWA, and VFC/Umarex/Elite Force. Nothing really wrong about such news as their new products are welcome giving more choices for the airsoft players.

Airsoft International Volume 8 Issue 3 – REBEL ATTACK!:
I recently had a conversation with a relatively new airsofter who had been playing for a few months, got some kit together and in his own words, “wanted to take his airsoft to the next level”. He wanted to know exactly how much money he should be spending to attain this “next step” of airsoft and what it should be spent on. I felt a little mean when I had to explain to him that there was no higher echelon to be reached through buying kit and the only sure result of that was an empty wallet and a huge heap of nylon and guns.
Don’t get me wrong here, one of my favourite post-pay day things to do is find a little treat for myself, this month I finally managed to ditch the throat mic that’s been doing it’s best to strangle me for the last year and pick up a new PTT and headset to replace it. It’s not the most expensive or groundbreaking piece of kit, but it made me scramble for the post like a kid at Christmas when it arrived! My point is that I don’t think there’s any route to airsoft nirvana via spending a fortune on any kind of kit.
If you really want to take airsoft to the next level, there’s one way to do it in my mind. Make sure you’ve got a solid and reliable gun in your hands, (check out the G&G and ICS ranges we’ve reviewed recently for some fantastic value), and hit up a weekender. You cannot beat the total immersion and non-stop action you will get at one of these events. As luck would have it our very own Ai500 is coming up and the very next weekend is the NAE Weekender from Ground Zero. Both events are set to be massive and you’ll have the chance to meet and get on the field with new friends and old rivals alike.
What’s the hold-up? Get yourself booked into a big game and experience the variety, the excitement and the new friends that airsoft has to offer. Skirmishing is so much bigger than your local site and it’s waiting for you to get out there and shoot a few mags at it!

Without announcing their surprise far ahead of time, KWA rolled up today at SC Village’s Operation Black Shield to surprise attending players passing on by, with their new Ford F250 truck towing their new Showcase Trailer. The Showcase Trailer is KWA’s new addition to making their showcase much more mobile and presentable, as all the prototypes are lined up along side with their others current products. Check it out!

Le plus ancien constructeur d’armes russes Izhmash – célèbre pour ses AK-47 et autres dérivés, SVD, PP-19, … – vient d’annoncer via un communiqué qu’il se lance sur le marché de l’airsoft. L’objectif principal est la production en masse de répliques pour les entrainements militaires, mais également disponibles à la vente pour une utilisation dans le cadre de notre loisir/sport. La première réplique qui sera produite dans cette gamme sera l’AK-74M, avec un mécanisme classique d’AEG.
The Yunker-5 gas-cylinder air gun is a product, with a design, weight and overall dimensions following that of the Kalashnikov assault rifle with a folded buttstock. The air gun is intended for training and sport shooting with 6-mm plastic balls powered by compressed gas in a cylinder. The air gun can also be used for strike ball.
Les premières livraisons de cette réplique pourraient avoir lieu dès le mois de Septembre. Izhmash n’a donné plus de précisions sur les canaux de distributions qui seraient mis en place, néanmoins remarquons que les ventes d’airsoft sont libres en Russie – pas besoin de licence ou d’enregistrement d’après la législation locale.

Airsoft games don’t have to be the same routine every time. Team Death Match, Capture The Flag, are often the most played scenarios. So innovation is also needed to improve gameplay on the field. You see more and more teams and organizations improving their games and events with helicopters, tanks, jeeps and the like. But how many times did you have the chance to use or even control one of these?
