SRC AKS74U Gas Blowback Rifle
The latest gas blowback rifle in the market today made by the Star Rainbow Company (SRC). The SRC AKS74U GBB is now available at Gunner Airsoft for US$259.00... "SRC released their GBB AK series Nov 2010, the first product is the AKS-74U. The gas system has the same concept as TM or KSC S7 system, it`s Much more stable than GHK AK gas system (which just uses a steel ball as a valve inside the nozzle). PenCott camo submitted for US Army’s next-gen camouflage
Hyde Definition have submitted their PenCott design for consideration as the US Army’s next choice camouflage:
Showcasing PenCott’s multi-environment versatility, three colorways were submitted for clothing whilst a fourth colorway was specifically developed for individual and tactical equipment. Also, and although not requested as part of the initial Request for Information, Hyde Definition submitted a proposal for a lightweight reversible camouflage over-garment to be worn over a lightweight basic uniform.
Experience in Iraq and Afghanistan (and elsewhere) has proven beyond any shadow of doubt that the currently issued Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) used on the ACU and ECWCS uniforms and personal equipment is significantly less effective in most terrains than other options, and also less effective than many other countries’ camouflage patterns.
So, in July of this year (2010) the US Army’s Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO-Soldier) issued a Request For Information (RFI) asking industry to submit camouflage patterns that the Army could consider for its next-generation “Family of Camouflage” – thereby effectively nailing the coffin lid shut on the “Universal Camouflage Pattern”.
The RFI specifically stipulated that patterns should have a common design geometry with adaptations colored for “woodland”, “desert” and “transitional” environments for clothing – with a fourth multi-terrain pattern adapted for use on web gear, rucksacks, armoured vests and other personal equipment.
At Hyde Definition Ltd. we recognised the issues with existing camouflage patterns several years ago, and first launched our PenCott™ Multi-Environment Camouflage Pattern in late 2008. The PenCott pattern uses complex, hybrid, digital-fractal geometry to more effectively disguise the wearer – the result being that the wearer disappears into the textures and background "noise" of the environment.
We therefore believed that the requirements of the PEO-Soldier RFI played directly to the core strengths of PenCott. In fact, we had already researched, developed and released the required “woodland”, “desert” and “transitional” variations of the PenCott Multi-Environment Camouflage Pattern.

Sports - Condor Mag carrier: "Kangaroo Option" by Nutnfancy
A current favorite for its simplicity and design excellence, the Condor Kangaroo mag pouch is a loadout problem solver. It is size efficient and makes carrying a DL 3 loadout easy. Available in 2010 in various versions, this 3-mag carrier is ideal because it also integrates three well-designed pistol mag pouches (that will fit most pistol mags as well; two 1911 mags fit in it too). Materials are excellent, stitching is good, it's tough and lightweight. This Multicam pattern is my favorite and is priced right for the quality but the Kangaroo pouch is also available in other colorations as well. Material for this version seems to be 500 denier poly coated Cordura which is preferred (samplings of other Condor products in other colors show this to be the standard now…subject to change). Rifle mag pouches are retained with adjustable tan elastic which possesses the ideal strength. They fit Magpul PMAGS easily. Pistol mag pouches have adjustable and removable lids and have elastic retention. Value is high for the cost. About the only detectable downside is the looseness of the MOLLE straps on the pouch, fixed by my own sewing modification (shown). There's lots of great tactical nylon LBE/Mag carriers out there but this is overall excellence again from Condor that delivers good quality for less. /////////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 9 out of 10 (strap looseness easily fixed but Condor should do it)Views:
